SHOWUPSOCCER

Private Use Agreement

Version 2026-09-27.4 · Effective September 27, 2026

Draft. This document has not yet been reviewed by a licensed attorney and may change. If it changes in a way that matters, we will tell you and ask you to accept it again.

In plain English

  • ShowUp Soccer is a private, non-commercial project built by one person for his own family and a closed circle of people he knows personally. It is not a public service, not a company, and not offered to the general public.
  • Access is by invitation only: you need an invite code from Carlos Zaragoza or another admin to create an account. There is no open sign-up.
  • A parent or legal guardian creates the account and agrees to this notice. Players never sign up and are never asked to agree to anything.
  • This is a free habit-training tool, not medical advice or coaching, and soccer training carries a real risk of injury.
  • No ads, no selling data, no tracking, no donations, no payments of any kind. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

1. What this is

ShowUp Soccer is a personal project built and run by Carlos Zaragoza, on his own time, for his family and for friends he knows and has personally invited. It is not a commercial product, not a registered business, and not open to the general public. There are no employees, no company behind it, and no intention to make a profit from it. This page is a private-use agreement between Carlos Zaragoza and the parent who accepts it — not a “Terms of Service” for a commercial service.

If you received a link to this page without an invite code from Carlos Zaragoza, this project is not meant for you, and you should not create an account.

2. Who this agreement is for

By using an invite code to create a parent account, you confirm that:

  • you were personally invited by Carlos Zaragoza or another admin, and you know them;
  • you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live);
  • you are the parent or legal guardian of every player you add, with authority to make decisions about how they use the app; and
  • you have read and accept this notice and our Privacy Policy, for yourself and on behalf of each player.

Each time you add a player, the app asks you to confirm that you are that player’s parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the information described in our Privacy Policy. A player profile cannot be created without that confirmation, and we keep a record of when you gave it.

Players are not asked to accept this notice. A player uses the app only through a profile that a parent creates and controls. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to set things up.

3. Invitation-only access

  • Creating an account requires a valid, unused invite code. Codes are generated and given out one at a time, directly, by an admin.
  • An admin can revoke an unused code, or decide not to invite someone. There is no right to an invite code and no appeal process for not receiving one.
  • Do not share your invite code publicly or with anyone the admin did not intend to invite. Do not try to register without a valid code.
  • Carlos Zaragoza may end this project, or any account, at any time, for any reason, since it is offered as a personal favor and not a paid or public service.

4. What the app does

ShowUp Soccer helps young players build a training habit: a drill catalog, a weekly plan, session logging, streaks and badges, a game-day bag checklist, mindset tools, and optional friends added in person. Parents see a limited dashboard.

The app is a work in progress, run in someone’s spare time. Features may change, be removed, or contain errors, without notice.

5. Health and safety

  • Not medical advice or coaching. Drills, training limits and safety notes are general information. They are not a substitute for a doctor, physical therapist or qualified coach, and they do not account for your player’s individual health.
  • Check with a professional first. Talk to a doctor before your player starts a new physical routine, especially if they have a health condition or an injury.
  • Stop if something hurts. Players should stop and tell a parent or coach. The app includes rest days and weekly limits, but they are guidance, not a guarantee of safety.
  • You supervise. Parents are responsible for supervising training, choosing a safe place, appropriate equipment and conditions (weather, surface, lighting), and deciding whether a drill is right for their child.

Soccer training involves inherent risks, including serious injury. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you accept those risks for yourself and your player, and Carlos Zaragoza is not responsible for injuries arising from training or games. This does not limit any liability that the law does not allow to be limited (see section 12).

6. Accounts and security

  • Give us an accurate email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • A player is activated on a device with a single-use code that expires after 24 hours. Generating a new code signs the previous device out.
  • Tell us right away at contact@showupsoccer.com if you think someone else has accessed your account or a player’s profile.

7. Parent responsibilities

  • Supervise how your player uses the app and review friend requests. Approve friends only if you know them.
  • Use a nickname for your player, not their full legal name. Do not enter sensitive or identifying information (addresses, phone numbers, school names, health details) in any free-text field, such as journal entries, game notes, or the famous player field.
  • Decide whether video recording is allowed. Recorded clips stay on the device and are never uploaded.
  • Do not pass your invite code, account, or a player’s activation code to anyone outside your own family.

8. Acceptable use

Do not, and do not let anyone else:

  • break the law or use the app to harass, harm or impersonate anyone;
  • try to access another person’s account or data, or probe, scan or test the app’s security without written permission;
  • get around limits or protections (for example, invite codes, activation-code attempt limits, or friend approvals);
  • scrape, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the app, except where the law allows it;
  • enter someone else’s personal information, or content you have no right to share.

There is no chat and no public profile in the app. Friends are connected only in person, and reactions are limited to a fixed set of emoji.

9. What you enter and what we may do with it

You keep ownership of what you and your player enter (such as nickname, training logs, notes and journal entries). You give Carlos Zaragoza a limited license to store, process and display it only to run the app for you. It is never used for advertising, and never sold. See the Privacy Policy.

10. Ownership

The app, including its software, design, name, logo and drill content, belongs to Carlos Zaragoza or his licensors. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use it for personal, non-commercial purposes as an invited family. ShowUp Soccer is independent and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any professional player, club or league.

11. Third-party services

The app relies on other companies to run (for example, hosting, the database and sign-in, and email delivery). Their services are governed by their own terms, and Carlos Zaragoza is not responsible for them. The Privacy Policy lists who they are and what they do.

12. Messages from us

We use the parent’s email to confirm accounts, help with sign-in, and send important notices about the app, security, or changes to this notice or the Privacy Policy. We do not send marketing email. Players may choose to turn on optional reminders (push notifications) on their device; a parent can set quiet hours.

13. Changes, availability and ending access

  • Changes to the app. Features may be added, changed, suspended or removed at any time. If the project ends, we will try to give reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.
  • Changes to this notice. If we make a material change, we will tell you by email or in the app, give the new version a new date and number, and ask you to accept it again.
  • Ending your account. You can stop using the app at any time. A parent can delete a player’s profile and all its data in the app. To close the parent account itself, email contact@showupsoccer.com. Access may be suspended or ended if someone breaks this agreement or puts the app or other invited families at risk.

14. Disclaimers and limits on liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows, as a free personal project run outside of any business. There is no promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will improve any player’s skill, fitness or results.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Carlos Zaragoza is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities. Total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to US $100.

Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any rights you have as a consumer or on behalf of a minor that the law does not allow to be waived. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

15. Governing law and disputes

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Pennsylvania have jurisdiction, except where the law of your home place requires otherwise. Before starting any legal claim, please write to contact@showupsoccer.com and give 30 days to try to resolve it informally, family to family.

16. General

This notice and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the app. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your account or invite code. You agree that notices may be given electronically.
